Pre-purchase survey
Independent condition inspection before you commit, with defects, priorities and practical next steps.
Request this surveyRequest an independent marine surveyor in Chile for a yacht purchase, insurance, valuation, damage or specialist assignment. Matching starts with Valparaíso, central Chile, the northern ports, Puerto Montt, Chiloé or Patagonia, the exact harbour or yard, long-distance travel, haul-out capability and any DIRECTEMAR inspection requirement.
A pre-purchase inspection is not the same assignment as a tonnage measurement or commercial-code survey. We keep the scope clear from the beginning.

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.
You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.
For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Chile’s principal boating locations are separated by thousands of kilometres and very different weather, access and yard conditions. Confirm the region, exact facility, haul-out and sea-trial plan, and distinguish a private survey from DIRECTEMAR registration or navigability certification.

Potentially, but these are separate long-distance assignments. Flights, transfers, accommodation, weather, port access and the surveyor’s availability must be agreed for the actual location.
No. DIRECTEMAR regulates recreational-vessel registration, safety and the Certificate of Navigability through the Maritime Authority. A buyer’s or insurer’s report does not automatically replace that process.
Potentially, subject to safe transport, weather and access. The yacht may need to move to Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas or another facility for haul-out or specialist work.
Only when stated in writing. Flights, accommodation, road or boat transfers, port fees, lift, wash, relaunch, skipper, fuel and specialist testing can be separate.
The client appoints the independent surveyor and agrees scope, fee, timing, limitations and terms directly. Chile Marine Survey provides information and introductions only.
Potential assignments include new-build & refit supervision, steel, aluminium, timber & composite, engine diagnostics & oil analysis, rig & mast inspections, ultrasound, moisture & corrosion, grounding, damage & salvage inspection, patagonian passage & delivery surveys, directemar navigability & safety work. Availability depends on the location, vessel and required specialist capability or formal appointment.
Select the country where the vessel is located, or send the exact port, marina or yard so the assignment can be reviewed.
Tell us the vessel, Chilean location and reason for the survey. We can help clarify access and report requirements before you request an introduction.
